Guavas...Goyaves de chines

Guavas are available in mauritius all year round depending on the types of guavas.The strawberry guavas and the lemon guavas are called goyaves des chines.They are available in the beginning of winter (march,april).They are grown mainly in the region of Plaine Champagne,La Brasserie,Chamarel and can be picked freely. While the apple guavas(goyaves verts)contain much more vitamin C than an orange,the strawberry guavas(goyaves des chines rouges)contains a lot of antioxidant.They are really delicious fruits which you should try if your next trip to mauritius is in march or april..
